Kitchen Messages

To access the list of default Kitchen Messages, firstly log onto your Admin Panel at https://www.eposhybrid.uk/ or via the ePOS Hybrid Operator App.

Once logged in, select Restaurant Setup, followed by Settings. Scroll down to Kitchen Messages, and select the Open option.

After opening the Kitchen Messages setting, you can view all your default messages and add new Kitchen Messages.

To add a new message, enter the text in the Kitchen Message field and click the green Add button to add this to your list of default Kitchen Messages.

To edit an existing message, click the green Edit icon next to the existing message, and amend the text in the Kitchen Message field, clicking the green Add button to update the message.

To delete an existing message, click the red Delete icon to remove this from your list of active Kitchen Messages.

Once you have your list of Kitchen Messages (or once you make any amendments), open your ePOS Hybrid Operator App, select Extras then scroll down and tap the Refresh App button to update your changes.

To send a Kitchen Message, tap the Kitchen Messages button on the front page of the ePOS Hybrid Operator App.

This will allow you to select the printer/display the message is being sent to. Tap the Choose Default Message dropdown to select from the list of default Kitchen Messages, or alternatively you can type a freeform message in the Write Your Kitchen Message field at the bottom of the screen.

Once you have completed your message, tap the green Send button to send the message to the kitchen, or press the red Skip button to cancel.

If you wish to send an item-specific message to the kitchen - for example if a customer has a special request for a menu item - tap the highlighted Message button under the chosen menu item in the customer’s order.

This will open the Kitchen Message pop-up, allowing you to enter the request. Once entered, click the green Add button to add the request to the menu item.

Once the request has been added, the customer’s special request will be listed in the white-bordered box directly underneath the menu item, and will be listed in inverted commas when sent to the kitchen, for example “no lettuce” as per the below screenshot.
