In this guide, we will display the steps required to add Item Modifiers to your system. Modifiers allow for variations to be made to menu items and provide customers with a greater level of customisation when ordering.
For a full step-by-step video guide on Interactive Menu Management, please refer to our Complete Video Guide.
Firstly, we will display the process of setting up Modifier Categories, to then allow the Modifiers themselves to be created and assigned to these Categories.
To begin, access your ePOS Hybrid Admin Panel at https://eposhybrid.uk/ or via your ePOS Hybrid Operator App. Once logged in, select Menu Management, followed by Modifiers and then Modifier Category.

The Modifier Category screen will list all active Modifier Categories and allow active categories to be edited and new categories to be added. To add a new category, click the green + Add Modifier Category button.

This will open the Add Modifier Category pop-up, allowing you to enter the name of the Category and provide further clarification if this is for a pizza crust, cheese or sauce. Once the relevant information has been entered, click the Submit button to add the Modifier Category.
If you are adding Pizzas to your Menu, ensure Pizza Crust, Cheese and Sauce categories have been added as modifiers such as bases, toppings, etc. will pull through from these categories.
If you wish to Edit your Category once added, click the green Edit icon in the Actions column to make the appropriate changes - click Submit in the pop-up once the relevant changes have been made.
If you wish to Delete a Category you have created, click the red Delete icon in the Actions column to remove this from your system.
Once your Categories have been added, you can now add individual Modifiers to these Categories.
To begin adding Modifiers, select Menu Management, followed by Modifiers and then Modifiers again.

The Modifiers screen will display all previously-created Modifiers and allow you to create new ones. To create a new Modifier, click the green + Add Modifier button on the top-right corner of the screen.
Once + Add Modifier has been selected, the Add Modifiers pop-up will appear.
Firstly, click Open on the Modifier section. Enter the Modifier Name in the first field, and select the applicable Modifier Category from the dropdown box.
The Description field is optional and allows you to enter a Description for the Modifier, which will be visible on the ePOS Hybrid Operator App and to customers when ordering via your Website or Mobile App.

Next, open the Allergen Information section to specify which allergens (if any) are relevant to your Modifier, with the Please Ask Staff Member or None options also available. If an allergen is not listed in the default list, click + Add More Allergent to add further allergens.

Next, specify the applicable VAT (if required) for your modifier, customisable by Service Type by entering the correct percentage in the appropriate field if changes are needed. Taxable is the default option, however if no VAT is applicable to the Modifier, select the Zero Tax option.

After reviewing the applicable VAT for your Modifier, the field below allows you to set the pricing for the Modifier if it carries a supplemental cost. If there is no charge for the Modifier, £0.00 must still be entered.

After setting the price of your Modifier, the final field allows you to upload a Modifier Image if required. Once the image has been uploaded, the Tab Display Option screen will display a preview of your Modifier Image for reference.

After completing all of the necessary fields, click the green Submit button to add your Modifier.
After adding your Modifier, you will return to the Modifiers screen with all created Modifiers listed, allowing you to further customise these once created.
If you wish to Edit your Modifier once added, click the green Edit icon in the Actions column to make the appropriate changes - click Submit in the pop-up once the relevant changes have been made.
The Alcoholic column allows you to specify using the Yes/No toggle to confirm whether the Modifier in question contains alcohol - this can be used to exclude certain items from Special Discounts in the ePOS Hybrid Operator App as discounts can be applied for the Entire Order or All Non-Alcoholic Items.
If you wish to Delete a Modifier you have created, click the red Delete icon in the Actions column to remove this from your system.
If you wish to Deactivate a Modifier without removing it from the system completely, click the green Active icon in the Status column. This will change the Status to a red Inactive icon, ensuring the Modifier will not be listed. If you wish to Reactivate a Modifier, click the Inactive icon and this will revert back to Active status.
