In this guide, we will cover the steps to setting up and managing your Biometric Reader via your ePOS Hybrid Operator App.
PLEASE NOTE: The Biometric Reader cannot be used on devices without USB connectivity.
After plugging in the Biometric Reader via USB into your ePOS, open your Operator App and select Extras, then scroll down to Settings in the App Actions section.
Once the General Settings screen is opened, scroll down to the Biometric section and select PB 510 on the dropdown box (the only available option).

Once selected, press the Back button to return to the Operator App homepage.
After adding your Biometric Reader and returning to the Operator App homepage, select the Staff Clock button to open the Staff Clock pop-up. If the Staff Clock button is not visible on the front page of the Operator App, select it after pressing Extras. After opening the Staff Clock pop-up, press the Register Biometric button.


When pressed, the Register Biometric pop-up will open, allowing you to register the staff member’s fingerprint. Select the member of staff from the dropdown box to receive the message confirming that the member of staff’s biometric data has not been registered.
Once the member of staff has placed their finger or thumb on the reader, press the SCAN button to register their biometric data. You can test this by repeating the process and viewing the confirmation message as seen below:

After the member of staff’s biometric data has been registered, return to the homepage of the Operator App. The member of staff can now use the biometric reader to clock in and out, with a notification visible at the bottom of the screen confirming the time of each reading.
